SOFIA, BULGARIA – HIP Campers®, a new independent manufacturer, is poised to change the face of family travel with the official launch of its first model, the HIP 4Family™, at CARAVAN SALON 2025 in Düsseldorf. Ditching the traditional „front lounge” concept, this innovative motorhome is a bold statement on what 21st-century family travel should look and feel like.
Founded in 2022 by outdoor-loving parents with strong startup and enterprise backgrounds, HIP Campers blends modern design, real-world usability, and off-grid freedom. The company was born from a frustration with motorhomes that didn’t match the needs of modern families.
„Too many motorhomes feel like they were built for couples, with an additional double bed installed as an afterthought in order to market it as a ‘4-berth’ motorhome,” says Vassil Petev, founder of HIP Campers. „We wanted to produce a motorhome that feels like home—one that is designed for your family’s comfort, which looks amazing, that is spacious for four people, and one that keeps up with your family life, all year round.”
Built for Real-Life Family Adventures
The HIP 4Family isn’t just another motorhome; it’s a thoughtfully designed family hub on wheels. Every detail addresses common pain points for traveling families, from dedicated spaces for kids to features that make family life on the road more comfortable.
Key Features include:
- Multi-purpose layout: A spacious interior with two separate lounges—one for the kids up front and a dedicated space for parents or the whole family at the rear—allows for both togetherness and personal space. Both lounges feature dropdown double beds measuring 140 x 200 cm. The large spa-like bathroom features a large disappearing sink, a shower and a cassette toilet.
- A family kitchen that works: The kitchen – with a large 125 x 60 cm worktop, 141 L fridge, a two-burner hob, and tons of storage – faces the awning side of the motorhome, becoming a social outdoor cooking extension. It’s designed for people who love to cook, but also for families who spend their warm days outside.
- Family-sized storage: A heated double floor provides a massive 2780 L of storage space, enough for the family’s belongings and sporting equipment like kites, skis/snowboards, chairs and a BBQ. The wardrobe with four drawers (one for each family member) measures massive 60 x 65 x 200 cm.
- Off-grid freedom: Equipped for extended adventures with up to 840 W of solar power, up to 600 Ah LiFePO4 batteries, a built-in inverter, and an optional 200 L freshwater tank.
- Year-round comfort: Enjoy all-season travel with wood-free insulated walls, built-in Truma heating, and optional integrated 12V 8000 BTU air conditioning, which does not impact the vehicle height.
- Peace of mind: The vehicle is engineered in Germany, built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with custom AL-KO chassis, and includes four seats with seatbelts, two of which are equipped with ISOFIX for child safety. A single control panel with a 12.3” touch screen and mobile app support keeps everything easy to manage. Several USB and 220-240V outlets handle charging all devices throughout the motorhome.
„Our research shows that 67% of all European models have four or more beds, but less than 0.5% have two lounges,” continues Vassil Petev, founder of HIP Campers. „This means that on rainy days, the motorhome – with four people inside – is cramped. Even more so when you have a fixed rear bed. HIP 4Family addresses this problem brilliantly.”
Pricing and Ordering
Prices for the HIP 4Family start from 149,999 €. Sales for the new model will open with its official launch at the Caravan Salon 2025 in Düsseldorf. Clients will be able to:
- Place an order: Sign a production contract to secure the vehicle by paying a full deposit. These customers will receive priority in the production queue.
- Reserve a production spot: For those who want to be among the first-in-line but prefer a risk-free option, a fully refundable payment of 1,000 € will reserve a spot in the production queue. This payment is 100% risk-free and can be refunded at any time, no questions asked.
Serial production is expected to start in the next 6 months.
